Documentary Feature Project: HELIOS

extreme adventure documentary in pre-production

The world’s first cinematic expedition to the point on Earth closest to the Sun.

OVERVIEW

HELIOS is a premium large-format documentary for IMAX, giant-screen theaters, museums, science centers, and global streaming platforms.

Set against the Chimborazo volcano, the film follows an expedition across the planet’s most remarkable and vulnerable high-altitude region, where vanishing tropical glaciers raise the stakes.

This pioneering exploration offers a cinematic journey through time, human endurance, and a rapidly changing natural world, sharply highlighting what is at risk in our planet.

A JOURNEY INTO THE ESSENCE OF HUMAN NATURE AND TIME.

SYNOPSIS

A veteran adventurer, Jose, attempts to achieve what no one has done before: land a helicopter on the 6,263-meter summit of the Chimborazo volcano – the closest point of the Earth to the Sun – and ski down its vanishing glaciers.

What starts as a high-risk adventure evolves into a personal reckoning with time and his past. While many see this as the ultimate challenge, for Jose, it marks the beginning of a deeper exploration.
